My Story

Hi, my name is Hüseyin Demirtaş. So far, I have helped hundreds of thousands of students in Turkey to learn English more effectively. Now my goal is to help as many people around the world as possible to reach their English exam goals.

I have a BA in Translation and Interpreting, a master’s in Cognitive Science and I am currently a PhD student in Learning Sciences at Boğaziçi University, one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey. In addition to my duties in prominent institutions in Turkey, I also worked in the US and UK and traveled extensively in Europe. I blend my academic background with my teaching experience to develop new models and approaches to teaching of English.

I am also the author of 2 published books and I run one of the biggest academic English channels on YouTube Turkey with more than 104.000+ subscribers and 4.3+ millions views.

This might now look glamorous but I grew up in a rural part of Turkey and I did not have an English teacher until I started high school. Yet, in a few years, through a lot of hard-work, trial and error, I made enormous progress and ranked in the top percentile in the foreign language section of Turkey’s national university admission exam and things started getting much better from then onward. So, I know what it means to start from absolute zero and I know what kind of problems and difficulties non-native speakers face as I am a non-native speaker myself.

All the best from Istanbul,

Hüseyin Demirtaş
